A sweet antique Victorian moonstone brooch, depicting two entwined hearts, symbolising an eternal, loving bond. Two enchanting cabochon moonstone hearts take centre stage (approx. 2ct each). They exhibit a silvery-blue glow and are bezel set in a scalloped 18ct gold frame, bordered by bright, creamy seed pearls.
The mystifying moonstone derives its name from the stone’s ethereal, luminescent light that was once believed to be moonlight in solid form. In Greek mythology they were associated with Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and said to be a path to love, wisdom and new beginnings.
This antique brooch is in excellent condition. It dates to the late 19th Century and would make the perfect gift for the one you share your heart with.
